In addition, don't use any cell phones, landline telephones, appliances or lights as flames or sparks from these devices may cause an explosion or fire. Once you've exited the area and are safely away from the source of the gas smell, you should report the leak immediately from a neighbor's home or other location by calling Tri-Cities Gas immediately. If you can't reach your propane retailer, call 911 or your local the local fire department immediately. Above all, don't re-enter the building until your propane retailer or the fire department has determined that it is safe to proceed.
Finally, you should always have a trained and qualified service technician from your local propane retailer perform a complete propane system check and any of your propane appliances to make sure they remain completely leak-free before you attempt to use any of them.
